Terms of Service

Last updated: April 30, 2026

These are placeholder terms — final ToS reviewed by legal counsel before public launch.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using pdf.xhub.io, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

pdf.xhub.io is a developer-facing API that generates PDF documents from HTML, Markdown, URLs, or templates. The service includes a web Console for managing workspaces, templates, API keys, webhooks, and billing.

3. User Accounts

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. Two- factor authentication is strongly recommended and required for users with production-level access. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and API keys, and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to (a) abuse, defraud, or attempt to circumvent the service’s rate limits or quotas; (b) generate documents that are unlawful, defamatory, or infringe third-party rights; (c) share API keys outside your organization or expose them in client-side code; (d) attempt to reverse-engineer the service or its infra; (e) use the service to generate phishing or malware-laden documents.

5. Pricing & Payment

Pricing is described on /pricing. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe Payments Europe. EU VAT is applied where required under the OSS scheme. Failed payments may result in service suspension after a grace period; data is retained for 30 days before deletion.

6. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time from the billing settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, subject to a reasonable cure period for non-material breaches. Upon termination, you may export your data within 30 days, after which it is permanently deleted.

7. Liability Limitation

To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the fees paid by you to us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or loss of data, except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or as otherwise required by mandatory provisions of German law (§§ 309, 310 BGB).

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Exclusive venue for disputes with merchants is the operator’s registered seat; consumer protections under mandatory law remain unaffected.
